Below is a breakdown of some of the costs we may incur. These vary depending on the area.
Initial Health Costs for Veterinarian Services
- Office Visit = $35-$50
- Fecal Check = $14-$20
- Rabies Shot = $14-$20
- DHLPP = $14-$20
- Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrliccia Test = $30-$45
- Interceptor/Heartguard = $11 (one month dose)
- Total Basic Vet Bill = $118-$166
Additional costs that may be incurred or illnesses that sometimes must be treated:
- Spay/Neuter = $200-$400 (depends on size and age of dog)
- Diagnosis of Wobbler’s Syndrome $150
- Gold Bead Implants for Wobbler’s = $700-$900
- Bloat Surgery = $200-$5000
- Teeth Cleaning = $200
- Happy Tail = $200-$500
- Cherry Eye = $300-$500
- Urinary Tract Infection = $60-$100
- Heartworm Treatment = $300-$700
- Lyme Disease = $60-$100
This does not include the cost of food, nor any of the other “basics” like collar, leash, toys, and most of all TIME and LOVE. How can you put a price on those?
